I have just received the beds for my CD. These are rough edits and only a sample of what the outcome will be.
We began laying the beds June 3rd. It was three days of hard work, but I am pleased to say well worth it.
Working with Mark Ferguson, John Geggie, Rob Graves and Charles Fairfield is an absolute pleasure. At times it got away on us, but we always managed to get things back on track.
Mark has a great sense of humour and John, with his dry clever wit, added to the whole experience. There is nothing better than comic relief to lighten up the intensity of a recording studio. nCode is a cosy and easy environment to spend time in, too.
After listening to the beds. Mark and I made a few notes which will help as we refine the final product. We sought and received some excellent input from Mark’s daughter Samantha. I am increasingly hopeful that this will be a terrific CD.
We are going back in July to do some overdubs and my final vocals, then I will be left with the details that always arise in a project like this.
I continue to relish the journey.
After silence, that which comes nearest to expressing the inexpressible is music.
