“Geri is one of those souls that lives, loves, and feels every musical note through her entire body. She is a gem of a talent with the voice of an angel“!
Laurie Nelson, Ottawa singer
“Geri is an accompanist’s ideal singer. Her voice has a shiny smooth, silky quality – never strident, always respecting the song with perfect intonation and phrasing. Her repertoire covers the many genres and eras in the jazz catalogue, a challenge but also a gift to both her musicians and her audiences…”
Art Lawless, Ottawa Pianist
Geri’s singing is absolutely beautiful. It has the feeling of a voice and a soul so free – with a freedom that only many years of training, of discipline and mastery has given her.
Ginette Munson – Audience member at performance of Torch at 4th stage NAC Ottawa
During her years in New York City, Geri sang in our choir, The Lance Hayward Singers. Her intuitive understanding of how to sing a lyric, her beautiful vocal instrument, and her rock-solid overall musicianship made her such an asset in a jazz-oriented group like ours. She knows how to sing in the service of the music, without letting ego take over, and yet also knows how to step forward and “wail” on a powerful solo. She’s a great singer.
